Laura Bui is a criminologist and educator at the University of Manchester. She was born in California and studied psychology in the US before coming to the UK to complete a PhD in criminology at the University of Cambridge. Her fiction on the Vietnamese diaspora received a Northern Writers’ Award and won Writing on the Wall’s Pulp Idol in 2017. She is the co-author of Crime in Japan: A Psychological Perspective, published in 2019 by Palgrave Macmillan. Laura has completed her first novel, Places of Arrival.
