A’Eysha is a South African journalist and editor, and presently works as an editor at the City of Cape Town. She graduated cum laude from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town. During her career, her work has appeared in several broadsheets including the SA Sunday Times, the Cape Times and the Mail&Guardian. Her debut novel, Suitcase of Memory, was published by Kwela Books in 2021. It was the joint winner of the 2022 University of Johannesburg Debut Prize for South African Writing and was longlisted for the 2022 SA Sunday Times Literary Award as well as the National Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences award in the category of Best National Novel. A’Eysha is currently working on her next novel, The Virgin Dress. She lives in Cape Town with her husband and two daughters.
