Barry Beckham grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was an English Professor at Hampton University and at Brown University where he directed the graduate writing programme. He has written three novels, My Main Mother, Runner Mack and Will You Be Mine. He has also written Double Dunk, a novelised biography of Earl Manigault and is the author of the play ‘Garvey Lives!’. He has also worked as a public relations writer for Chase Manhattan Bank. He is the founder of Beckham Publications. Barry lives in Silver Spring, Maryland and serves on the advisory board of the Authors Guild.
