Rickey Fayne

Rickey is originally from rural West Tennessee. He holds an MA in English from Northwestern University and an MFA in Fiction from the Michener Center for Writers at UT Austin. He is the 2023-2025 Mendota Fellow in Fiction at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  His short stories have appeared in American Short FictionGuernicaThe Sewanee Review, and Joyland. Rickey’s first novel, The Devil Three Times, was published in June 2025 in the UK by Fleet. It was shortlisted for The Center for Fiction 2025 First Novel Prize. In 2026, it was longlisted for the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel and a finalist for the PEN Open Book Award. It was also shortlisted for the 2026 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award.
